Frequently Asked Questions

What is a vehicle challan?

A challan is a notice issued for a traffic or vehicle-rule violation. It usually records the date, the violation, the location and the amount.

How can I check my challan?

Enter your vehicle registration number on the Check Challan page and submit it. The result comes from the connected data source and is shown as returned.

What information is required?

Your vehicle registration number. Nothing else is requested for a basic check.

What if no challan is found?

It means the data source returned none at that moment. Records can take time to update, so you may want to check again later.

Why is a challan showing as pending?

Status comes from the issuing authority's records. If it looks wrong, confirm with the issuing authority.

Can I check another vehicle?

Yes, you can enter any registration number. Only check vehicles you are entitled to look up.

Is ChallanDekho affiliated with a government authority?

No. ChallanDekho is an independent service and is not a government website.
